Jour Final News Story
For my story, I want to talk to a local defense attorney (Jay Chain) and first of all ask him about certain problems arising in the justice system in Oxford, from there I would take a certain story from what he says and follow that. I am not really able to pin point my exact story because I want to keep my options open for the best story that he can give me.

Investigative Journalism (Woodward and Bernstein)
The beginning of this movie was interesting because it shows the process of how much work goes into a story with you are an investigative journalist. You might go through a lot of work and fail...but you also might succeed. It is a lot of little things that can crack open a story. For example, you see Woodward and Bernstein making many phone calls (even to librarians) just to get any kind of information that they can. They even sit in a library and go through numerous library entries of persons checking out books about senator Kennedy dating back from a WHOLE YEAR. It's all about making connections and going through every possible source which makes investigative journalism what it is.

Photography is talent. It's a skilled job.
Today I wanted to talk about the fact about photographers being more common now a days and photographers being fired from their jobs..
Some people say that photography is easy and that you can just download an app and make yourself a photographer.
Others will say that photography is a skill and it takes a professional to be able to TELL the story through pictures.
I used to think that photography could be for anyone, until I read this article. I found it very interesting and believe this guy is the prime example of telling a story through his photos.

Inside The New York Times
Here are some main points I got from the video of what newspapers used to be like. It was kind of difficult for me to find a central theme, but here ya go..
people relied so much on newspapers at the main source of news
The end of new york times wouldnt be that big of a deal bc of all the new media.
Ad revenue declined by 30 percent because of the decline of newspapers. sommething permanent has changed.
publishing is no longer a specialty because now everyone can do it.
There are websites like Wikileaks where people can get front page stories from other forms of media.
Back then, people relied on the newspapers to get their info out. For example, pentagon papers that were made available thru NY times.. and instances like watergate..
"journalism is just a tool that is used to get our goal and our goal is justice" -founder of wikileaks
newspaper models are dying but news isnt because theres so many more platforms to get the info out.
Every major news story at the time can be traced to the original story in the ny times. Ny times was the source.
I will say that after I watched this movie and getting to see behind the scenes, I want to go online and start paying to subscribe to the NY times.
